A Vibrant South Asian Celebration at the Chase Center on the Riverfront

There is something incredibly grounding about photographing a wedding where the connections run deep. When I arrived at the Chase Center on the Riverfront for Shivani and Aniket’s wedding, it felt less like a job and more like a reunion. This celebration was particularly special to me because of how I met the groom. Aniket is a good friend of Preeti, a wonderful bride whose wedding I photographed back in 2023 at the Hanover Marriott. Walking into a room and seeing familiar faces makes all the difference because it creates a level of trust and comfort that allows me to get right into the action.

A significant number of the weddings I photograph each year come from past referrals like this one. I truly believe this is a testament to more than just the photos I deliver. It speaks to the experience I strive to create for every single couple. My goal is always to make sure my clients feel completely comfortable and taken care of, not just on the wedding day, but from our very first consultation until years after their final gallery is delivered.

This wedding also marked a personal milestone in my own career. While I have been specializing in South Asian weddings for years, 2024 was my first full year running my new business entirely on my own. Being able to document Shivani and Aniket’s day was the perfect representation of why I love this work.

One of the things that made this day stand out visually was the reception space itself. The room at the Chase Center is unique because it is essentially a giant black box. While that might sound simple, it is actually an awesome space to photograph in. It creates a blank canvas that allows the lighting and design to truly pop without any distractions. The decor team took full advantage of that vast space and transformed it into something spectacular. I absolutely loved the way they utilized the height of the room, specifically with the lush hanging plants suspended from the ceiling right above the dance floor. It centered the energy of the room and looked incredible in the photos as the party picked up.

Thank you, Shivani and Aniket, for trusting me to capture these memories. It was an honor to celebrate with you both.

Here are some of my favorite moments from their incredible day in Wilmington.
