An Elegant South Asian Wedding at Water Works by Cescaphe
Some weddings feel like a journey in the best possible way. Meena and Sunny turned their celebration into a multi-day experience that perfectly balanced relaxation and high-energy excitement. We kicked things off down the shore in Bayville, NJ, where the couple rented a beautiful Airbnb right on the water. It was the perfect relaxed setting to start their wedding week, and we took advantage of the scenery for some breezy, casual portraits by the water before the real madness began.
The festivities continued back in the city with a Sangeet at The Notary in Philadelphia. The historic architecture and moody lighting of the venue set a completely different tone from the shore, which ramped up the energy for what was to come. By the time the wedding day arrived, everyone was ready to celebrate.
The main event took place at Water Works by Cescaphe on a hot August day in Philadelphia. Despite the heat, the day was absolutely stunning. The ceremony set up with the Art Museum and Boathouse Row in the background is iconic for a reason, and it provided a breathtaking backdrop for their traditional Hindu ceremony.
One of the standout moments for me visually was Meena’s reception look. She changed into an incredible evening gown that, to this day, remains one of my absolute favorite bridal dresses I have ever photographed. It was elegant, modern, and fit the grandeur of the Water Works venue perfectly. Seeing Meena and Sunny celebrate with their friends and family against the skyline view was the perfect ending to an incredible week.
Thank you, Meena and Sunny, for trusting me to document this entire journey from the Jersey Shore to the heart of Philly.
