Stephanie + Hardik | Two Days of Culture at The Rockleigh
Stephanie and Hardik decided that one ceremony wasn't enough to cover the depth of their backgrounds so they split the weekend into two distinct days. We started with a Catholic ceremony on day one to honor Stephanie’s faith. It was a traditional and grounded start to the weekend before we shifted gears completely for the main event at The Rockleigh in New Jersey the following morning. That second day was a marathon, starting with the Baraat and the full Hindu ceremony. But the visual highlight for me happened later in the day. Right next to The Rockleigh, there is this massive field with towering trees that look straight out of the California Redwoods. You would never expect to find a landscape like that in this part of Jersey. We went out there for the evening portraits, and the scale of those trees gave the photos such a cinematic feel compared to the manicured grounds of the venue. Back inside, Stephanie brought her Filipino heritage into the spotlight. There was a traditional Filipino dance performance that was easily the highlight of the night. It wasn't just entertainment but a real exchange of traditions, sharing the stage with Hardik's culture. Documenting that mix from the church aisle to the Mandap to the dance floor is exactly why I shoot fusion weddings.
