A Memorial Day Weekend South Asian Wedding at Springfield Country Club
Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and I cannot think of a better way to kick off the season than with Divya and Karthik’s celebration. Their wedding at Springfield Country Club was a marathon of beautiful moments because they chose to honor both of their backgrounds with two distinct ceremonies. It takes a lot of energy to pull off a double ceremony day, but the joy in the room kept everyone going from start to finish.
We started the day with a traditional Hindu ceremony that was full of vibrant colors and intricate rituals. Later in the afternoon, everyone gathered at a local church for a beautiful Indian Catholic ceremony. It was incredibly special to watch Divya and Karthik celebrate their union in two different ways while surrounded by the same supportive group of family and friends throughout the entire day.
One of the huge advantages of hosting a wedding at Springfield Country Club is the scenery surrounding the venue. Just off the fairways, there are fantastic pockets of greenery that provide a lush and natural background for photos without getting in the way of the golfers. We took full advantage of this location for their couple portraits in the evening. The light was absolutely gorgeous and gave us that soft golden glow that makes for the most romantic images. It was the perfect quiet moment for them to catch their breath before the reception began.
